Mount Carmel PU College
Mount Carmel PU College for Women is a Pre University college in Bengaluru city and is managed by the Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa. This college was established in 1948 in order to meet the increasing demand for the education of women in India.
The pre university college is a mainly a minority institution for Roman Catholic students, however, the college is open for people from other castes and communities as the college believes in spirit of service.
The college stands for women empowerment through value based learning. It takes up teachings from Jesus Christ as a pillar of education. In the year 2002, the PU College was separated from First Grade College and ever since then the students of this college have won various competitions, awards, prizes and medals in various fields. The students have continually strived for better results and as a result have been able to secure top ranks in Pre-University Board Exams.
Currently more than 2600 students study in Mount Carmel PU College which is a wonderful testimony of its vision and mission. The college considers it to be among top 10 colleges in the country today.
