Her favorite maxim was that we should form strong characters of high principles

our earnest reflection. Our goal is to foster the total development of each
student in her / his uniqueness so that she / he becomes – Intellectually
alert, Emotionally balanced, Morally sound, Spiritually oriented, Physically
fit, Culturally enriched and Socially committed. Our Mission as Good Shepherd
Sisters in India, is by prayer and sacrifice and by means of Qualitative,
Educational, Health and Social Ministries. To bring reconciliation through our
own experience of the merciful love of Jesus the Good Shepherd, to all
especially girls and women who are poor and exploited. At present there are
more than 7,000 sisters belonging to the active and contemplative branches the
world over, Thousands of dedicated lay persons also share in this mission. They
work to transform the lives of thousands of girls and women who are caught in
the web of problems like drug addiction, prostitution, exploitation by violent
husband, pre-marital pregnancy, suicidal tendencies, etc.We run re-education
and rehabilitation centres, orphanages, hostels, outreach programmes, crises
intervention centers, schools and hospital. In India, in addition to our
institutions in Bengaluru, Bellari, Mysuru, Chennai and Mumbai we have ventured
out in rural areas : Manvi in Karnataka, Mangalagiri and Amaravathi in Andhra
Pradesh, Balaghat and Garrotola in Nagpur, Waynad and Thaikkattassery in
Kerala, Karjat and Virar in Mumbai. We respond to the challenges of the Indian
situation, particularly the plight of the poor, exploited and oppressed women
