Consortium of Medical, Engineering & Dental Colleges of karnataka
COMEDK UGET will be held on 6th May 2012. COMEDK is conducted for admission to First Year undergraduate courses in Engineering, Medical & Dental.
Under COMEDK, 25% seats are reserved for students in Self Financed Engineering Colleges who are members of the Consortium. The admissions are open at All India level. The candidates from all states are eligible to appear in the entrance test.The admissions are made through single window counseling by COMEDK authorities on the basis of merit in COMEDK entrance Test.
Total seats offered under Engineering program were 15616 in 2011.In 2011, approximate 43000 students appeared for COMEDK Engineering Entrance Test.
There are close to 27-28 very good colleges under COMEDK where academics and placements are of reasonably high worth.Total number of member institutions offering engineering course are 154.
The Students securing rank below 5000 have very good chances of making it to the good private colleges in Karnataka for top 3-4 engineering streams.To secure a seat in top 3-4 colleges the rank should be under 2000-2500.
There will be total of 180 questions, 60 each from Physics, chemistry & Mathematics. For each right question one mark will be awarded.There will be on negative marking.
The fee charged under COMEDK seats in Self Financed colleges is approximate Rs. 1,25,000 per Annum.
To apply ,the candidates need to send a DD of Rs. 900 alongwith the application form.
Last Date to receive the duly filled application form with DD is 10th April 2012.
The test centres will be in Karnataka only.
