Delhi College of Engineering has attained the status of non affiliating teaching & research University in the name of Delhi Technological University with the aim to provide the necessary academic & administration autonomy from the session 2010.
For delhi students,if they are not able to make to top IITs, the DTU become the preferred option even for lot ahead of NITs like Warangal, Trichy etc. & even the cut offs for top streams are very high.
DTU has 85% seats reserved for Delhi students and 15% for other states.
Admissions are made on the basis of merit in AIEEE. The cut offs ranks are quite high for top streams like Computer ,ECE, Mechanical etc. The offered streams are :

Key Highlights of DTU are placements , infrastructure ,academics strength etc,
Placements are always impressive in DTU with a very good mix of Software ,Technology & Core sector campanies. The average annual packages across the streams is around
6.0 -6.5 lakh per annum.
In 2011 ,the highest offered package was 37.5 lakh per annum.
